Women’s lunch It can be sponsored by D&I team. But, This also depends on the format, for example if we got a special room on site at the conference and had food brought there, wouldn't be that many extra costs. Would be nice to have a piece of swag to hand out as well.
Informal interviews/talk, talk to people - We have dome it last time. @tatica helped us to do it. She can expand this idea more here. Thanks @tatica
Diversity Video - @tatica we need your help here as well :) . Everyone in the team can come up with creative content and @tatica can help us record it.
Newcomers Session A D&I session for new people. We can get them signed up for this in advance before Flock.
D&I Team Session D&I team will get together to work on tickets and defining team's strategies for future.
Update 21.07.20 from @bee2502 : I compiled a list of all the team's previous sessions and ideas in this doc for future reference:

D&I team presence at Flock 2020 : Ideas Brewing
What about a Brunch or dinner? Lunchs at FLOCK are usually a bit chaotic since everyone is running. Dinner could work better.
For this, we could do 2 things: Gather feedback from the women that help at fedora to collect experiences, tips, notes and such, so we can build a better fedora women page that can be more detailed for newcomers, and 2.- a small gift for all of them for being part of our project (can be something simple like a fedora cookie, a pin or some special stickers)
I would love to work on this. I'm getting some awesome inputs from @riecatnor that I could expand in a 2nd round of informal interviews. I think that the feedback gathered in 2019 has helped a bit to visualize the main issues that our community is facing and we have been (slowly due life) working oon those
I'm up for it! time to make a better video! (didn't thought it could be so well received). This time instead just doing a large single video for youtube, I could also work on small clips for other social networks.
Newcomers Session A D&I session for new people. We can get them signed up for this in advance before Flock. D&I Team Session D&I team will get together to work on tickets and defining team's strategies for future.
Introduction of the new Diversity Advisor: Hopefully we will have one by then, would be great to everyone meet him/her at the D&I session.
D&I and Women marketing packages: A bit of specific designs for either download or print could work for further events
Year Calendar: There are many important dates in the year that we could use to make events or just marketing and spread more our diversity. It would be great to plan in advance this activities so we can be a step ahead of everything.

I am +1 for dinner. But securing a space in advance for bigger crowd can be an extra task and we need to keep that in mind as well to avoid last min hurdles :)

I liked all of the ideas you shared. We need to choose carefully among them so that team can perform and not feel overloaded. Thank you.
Given recent global events, we might want to (1) wait for official news on Flock 2020 before spending a lot of time on this, and (2) brainstorm ideas for virtual sessions.
For the virtual FLOCK/ NEST, one idea I have is that we can do a version of speed dating to bring facilitate more engagement and also so people can connect with someone they haven't interacted with before. We can divide people who attend randomly into groups of 3-4 and create new breakout rooms and they can chat there about Fedora or beyond. We can make new breakout rooms every 3-4 minutes and also provide some game options or sample questions so people don't feel stuck.
Also, at the end of FLOCK/NEST, maybe we can do an appreciation session. Everybody can talk about one person they are thankful for in the community or something new they learned. If someone doesn't want to speak up then, they can of course send a written Happiness packet later. This could be something like an after-session though I am not sure if it makes sense in the online scenario.
I am +1 to a diversity team hackfest amongst the ideas proposed.
In #136, I suggested a dedicated FWD global organizer session. We could probably split this from a team hackfest to better on-board new team members to the global FWD organizing team.
Can someone please take a lead on team hackfest and propose a session soon, if we havent already? We dont have a lot of days left. I will be there to participate - but I dont think I can lead one.
@nasirhm @hirat @orionstar25 I feel it would be a nice next step to organize a flock session (ofc f if you have the bandwidth). Feel free to use one of the ideas mentioned in the ticket or propose your own one.
I'm not sure if I completely understood what the hackfest needs to be about, but I'll propose a session and tag everyone xD Please do tell me if important points are missing there.
Here is the proposal: https://pagure.io/flock/issue/249
Thanks @orionstar25 for opening the ticket. Can you please add me as well :)
Another Idea - I am thinking of a presentation from D&I team on "Dealing with Disruption" - The tough times we all are going through. I think it will be nice to collect some tips around how to deal with the crisis and maintain mental health.
WDYT?
Done!
Thanks @orionstar25 that was quick :)
Suggestion - Should we include taiga walk-though as one of the topic? It will be easier to do with team presence.

I think the FLOCK ticket is only for FWD hackfest right now. Will we propose another team hackfest?
Since we have traditionally organized GSoC/Outreachy showcase, should we do that as well? Update: In the IRC chat, it was dicussed that this might be a better task for Mindshare seat for outreach programs now
Also, I updated the ticket with a list of all our previous ideas and sessions for better future reference in FLOCK 2021 - if someone likes an idea and wants to organize it, they are welcome :) https://docs.google.com/document/d/1IFsaPC09DZXaKrsWnxfb6im2rANmQGH1Wj0Fpeasym4/edit?usp=sharing
That is a very useful document @bee2502 Do we want to save the content in our doc repo?
Thanks for creating the proposal @orionstar25 , and thank you @bee2502 for the awesome doc.
@amsharma I believe it would be a good idea to have it our D&I Docs as it's portrays the awesome work done by Organizers and the D&I team in the past and can provide ideas to new organizers.
Thanks for the suggestion @nasirhm and @amsharma - I opened a new doc ticket #142 to add this info to our team docs :)
Hey folks! So, to recap for Flock/Nest this year, there are two D&I-related sessions from our team to catch:
Since this issue is about planning our Flock/Nest presence broadly this year, I am going to close this ticket as complete. Thanks @bee2502 for breaking up the docs ideas into smaller tickets.
