Some software packages do not have a description at Fedora Package Sources-neuro sig Eg. rpms/SomePackage - The SomePackage rpms
Going upstream and bringing back descriptions.
These are mostly packages that were imported before we moved to pagure. One needs admin access to change their descriptions but we dont have admin access on all packages. We generally have commit access only.
I understand now, I was not aware of the switch to Pagure.
At some point in the future, will that be a problem? (i.e. not having admin access).
No, we should be fine. We have commit access, so we can keep updating the packages, and if need be the infra team has admin access on all packages.
The lack of proper descriptions has annoyed me too, though. In the future the Fedora packages app is also going to go away, so src.fp.o will be the only place to get info for packages.
For newer packages, pagure seems to pick up info from the specs. Maybe we could speak to infra and see if they can set the pagure summaries to the summaries in the specs for all fedora packages?
