Looks nice :)
Can you design back too?

@chhavi @amsharma Is that the official Fedora Diversity logo? or just something we plan to use?

please read the guidlines for the usage of the Fedora logo, the bubble has a meaning and is part of the logo replacing it with that heart violates the guidelines

@gnokii Thanks for checking.
I believe, Bubble part is still there, Heart shape is just the container outside for existing fedora logo in the design. Also, it is approved design here - https://pagure.io/design/issue/476
So, Can we use it?

@gnokki Thanks for pointing out. The tshirt one is different than final icon.

Overall, I think the final icon was proposed in Design ticket #476 because it was pagure-friendly, small and too much design would clutter the icon. Since, we are looking for a tshirt design here, I think we should experiment a bit especially make the tshirt more inclined towards diversity or Fedora women. @chhavi and I both have some ideas.

My main concern if we go with the heart logo (from pagure icon) is that I don't feel it conveys the message we are looking for. To me, it seems like we are trying to say that we love Fedora instead of anything related to diversity or women in Fedora - especially since this is for FWD.

And what are these ideas? Reusing the existing one has many reasons behind it. The main one is time constraint. If you can take the full ownership to get the design approved along with t-shirts printing timely, Please go ahead with it. Else, I would request to please stick to what we have for now.
Design team is also busy with flock work to work and approve a completely new design.
Also remember printing cost increases with the size/design of logo.

I added a note on the list, but the work for this ticket can likely be combined with #538. Both are requesting similar things for similar purposes, e.g. a common logo. This way, it will be less work to accomplish the same goals for two tickets.

If a designer has time, I also think it would be nice to have something different from the heart design we used for the Pagure logo. I agree that the heart might be confusing messaging for the event, but I don't think it's a deal-breaker if time constraint is an issue. Let's wait for more input from Design Team members.

I've got a little extra time today, I'll try to put something simple together and post an idea by the end of the day :)

SO I found a shirt design that I had done for l10n that didn't end up getting used (but I know Mo really liked it a lot!) and so I tweaked it to be two-color and adapted it for this event. I saw the mention wanting to incorporate the diversity logo, and I referenced it on the top "petal" of the below design, but you wanted a two-color design here and the diversity logo is 4-color
It might look like mine is 3-color but all of the white elements are just transparent and, when printed on a white shirt will be white.
Here's the SVG souce, the transparent PNG (with cut-out white elements), and a mockup on a white shirt

@maryshak1996 looks fab, approved from my end

This is awesome!! :heart_eyes: :heart_eyes: :heart_eyes: This is super amazing, @maryshak1996! I love the design.

The only tweak I would suggest, we aren't targeting this to a specific day, but instead the whole month of September (for people to organize their own local events any time during that month). Could the Aug 10 bit in the bottom-left pedal be swapped out to just be Sept?

Again, this is awesome, thank you so much!

@maryshak1996 This looks so cool. Thank you :)

@maryshak1996 where were you, you are just great. I loved it really. I will check with my vendor for cost. If I can do it within budget I will for sure go for it and thank you very much for doing it so "QUICK" real quick and posting it here directly in ticket :100:
@maryshak1996++

@maryshak1996 I'm in love with this design :heart_eyes:, many thanks for your great work :clap: :clap: :clap:

Once the image it is ready can we include it here so other people can use it for their events?

I'm glad everyone likes it so much! I can have the updates posted here by noon tomorrow :)

@maryshak1996 Amazing design. Thank you so so much :D Can we use this image for making a wallpaper for social media?

@amsharma I will take this up. :)

@jonatoni If you could share an example of how you had wallpapers earlier wrt size and all?

Sweet, please let me know if you need any help. Just a call away :)

@jonatoni If you could share an example of how you had wallpapers earlier wrt size and all?

Just realized that the above files that I posted weren't converted into the color mode needed for screen printing (hopefully it's not too late!) The below PDF is the file that you should send to the vendor. The SLA that goes it with it is attached as well

Wallpaper Design

Hello,

I tried making something for the banners on Facebook for the FWD event. Please provide your feedback? Is there something else that I can try?

Also for printing banners what are the sizes/file format that we should look into?

@maryshak1996 @amsharma

This looks great to me @chhavi :)
Thanks for making it. About the print question - I think we wanted to use it for FB pages. I am not sure we ever consider putting budget in printing this as banner. HTH

@chhavi the Facebook banner looks great, but I would suggest changing the fonts (Design-Team is trying to migrate more to the use of Open Sans and Monserrat as opposed to Comfortaa)
Maybe have "Come celebrate the", "with us" and the date/location info in Open Sans, and then have "Women in Fedora" in Monserrat? That way it'll also be consistent with typography on the shirt design :)
If you do decide to get physical banners printed I can try to help you out, so just let me know what you decide to do!

@maryshak1996 Thank you for your quick feedback. :) I changed the fonts as you said.

I think I can update the location for each event when we have them finalized. We will update you about physical posters to be printed.

Thank you again :)

@maryshak1996 can I get a CDR file for this image please?

@amsharma to clarify, would you like a CDR of the shirt design?

@amsharma to clarify, would you like a CDR of the shirt design?
yeah, t-shirt vendor is asking for it.

@amsharma we don't use corel draw nor is CDR a standard image format for this sort of thing. can you let the vendor know the PDF is in fact a vector PDF? If they are requesting CDRs I would be a bit suspicious and think it would be a good idea to request a proof as well.

@duffy As per my experience with vendor is, he does not know any other format and always use only CDR with his machine. His machine is rejecting all these formats so far. I am looking for other options.

@amsharma ah ok, keep us posted. it's pretty unusual to only accept CDR!

@amsharma Hey did this end up working out? I'm assuming FWD is over now and this was completed, is that correct? I'm looking to close out the ticket, if so.

@duffy We used this design to print stickers and everyone liked it. Thank you so much for all your help.
Now we are planning to print diversity team t-shirt which should not be associated with any event but a generic diversity team t-shirt and we need design for that.
If you think we should close this ticket and open a new one for that, I will do so. Else we can continue with this ticket and modify this design a bit for t-shirts. Thanks again.
