#351 atomic working group talks/sessions for devconf.cz 2018
Closed: Fixed 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by dustymabe.

Let's strategize on what sessions we want to submit for devconf this year. Please update the description with a bulleted list of sessions we'd like to submit as well as the status for each session. For example:

  • Atomic Host 101 Hands On Lab - Not Yet Submitted - Dusty Mabe

Please add a comment anytime you update the description with a changelog of what you changed in the description.

Brainstorm ideas from fedora-atomic meeting:

  • State of Atomic
  • Talk on implementing multi-arch for atomic and containers
  • Workshop (fallback to talk) on deploying FAO to AWS
  • Workshop (fallback to talk) on becoming a container maintainer
  • RPM-Ostree talk: new commands, changes
  • Dusty's Atomic 101 workshop
  • Running kubernetes in system containers

We also need to do an Atomic BOF.

I am planning to add our sessions in here next week. Was busy conferencing past 2 weeks.

I don't seem to be able to edit the description. Sessions we want to propose:

  • Next-gen containers - Not Yet Submitted - Tomas Tomecek, @eslobodo

    • A talk about new techniques we use for containers as well as about news and other related projects to containerization.
  • How to test module/containers with Meta-test-family - Not Yet Submitted - @phracek

  • Let’s create a test for your modules/containers - Not Yet Submitted - @phracek

  • Ansible Container Workshop - Tomas Tomecek (+Ansible devs)

  • Workshop for next-gen containers (with focus on building them in Fedora infra) - Tomas Tomecek (+ I hope someone will help)

I am planning to submit these on Tuesday or Wednesday. Any feedback or help is appreciated.

I submitted an rpm-ostree one, basically "why", "how does it work", new recent features, and its future.

I'd like to submit a small talk to discuss Atomic Workstation. I.e. just go over what it is, why it's awesome, and how people can easily migrate over. Feels like a good time given that F27 has more focus on it as well. @puiterwijk and @otaylor, you had a similar talk at Flock this year -- were either of you planning to cover it again at DevConf?

@jlebon please do.

Also, I'd like to have you do you or @puiterwijk do 60 seconds on Workstation for the Atomic BOF.

I'm not planning to submit anything on Atomic Workstation for devconf, no. I think it would be great if someone submitted a proposal.

Thanks,
Owen
