#292 [Budget] Request for funding: Document Freedom Day 2018 in Singapore
Closed: Fixed 5 years ago Opened 6 years ago by woohuiren.

Hello all,

Document Freedom Day 2018 [0] will be taking place on 28 March. DFD was also celebrated in Singapore in 2016 [1] and the cost of the event was around $130SGD, equating to around $100USD.

I would like to request for budget for the following items that will be used during the event:

  • Cake - $90 USD
  • Food - $30 USD

In total, I would like to request for a budget of $120 USD for this event.

This is an FY19 item. If this gets approved by the region, please add it to: https://pagure.io/fedora-budget/blob/master/f/FY19/ledger/apac.ldg

Is there someone in APAC who is going to act as treasurer? It’d be great to get these added to the budget. I’ve dropped myself as responsible for now in hopes someone from the region wants to do this important work. There is documentation on the site and I am very happy to consult.

I will suggest again, we should have someone who is active, regularly (say daily) checking the apac mailing list or tickets to be given the treasurer position.

@pnemade I believe that finding someone to do this work is critical, but we can't do it in this ticket. Can you start a conversation about a treasurer on the ML and open a ticket to track it for the next meeting. I encourage the group to select someone, even without quorum and then replace them if needed. Being treasurer conveys no power to approve/deny but is there it to help the group move forward.

Hi @pjp or @sumantrom,
Please read above comment. Can any of you send an email to ambassadors apac mailing list? I can open a ticket but then I will prefer the same person to open the ticket.

@bex sorry I don't have access to apac mailing list as I am not an ambassador. Hence asking to some members here.

@woohuiren I am hearing that you may need swag for this event? What's up?

@pjp will be delivering the swags during FOSSASIA week. Shouldn't be an issue for me.

Hello Huiren,

We have not produced stickers/badges here yet. So I had asked Brian if he could send me from his stock. That is why he pinged you about it.

I think it will be more helpful if ticket #278 can be discussed further. That ticket can be considered to be discussed for APAC region and not just for India. Or a new ticket can be opened to discuss for APAC region.

@pnemade I'll comment on that ticket separately. I don't want to hold up @woohuiren if we can avoid it. Can you get me an address ASAP for stickers @woohuiren ?

You can send directly to me. My address is Ubi Avenue 1 Blk 338 #10-859,
Singapore 400338

I'll ship stickers to you tomorrow from the office. How many people do you expect?

Not more than 20 for DFD. But we might be giving it for FOSSASIA if it
reaches on time.

I've put some stickers in the mail. Targeted to arrive on Monday.

I'm currently writing an event report article about this event on the Common Ops blog. I'll update again with the URLs and images of the receipts.

This has been paid by transferwise.

Can someone please close this ticket?
