#71 Package afni: Analysis of Functional NeuroImages

Ask Tom Holyrod @ NIMH MEG Center for help/advice/testing if needed

I started playing around with a specfile for this a bit at https://github.com/jpellman/NeuroSpecFiles. One of the issues that I've encountered is that it's not totally clear to me what the build environment that the AFNI folks are using is, and I don't want to build packages from source that have slight variations from the official binaries distributed by Cox et al. I opted to just have the specfile follow the official installation instructions from the AFNI page as closely as possible.

@jpellman: thanks very much for looking into AFNI. I've added you to the neuro-sig pagure group now so you have permissions on the repositores to modify tickets and push commits and so on. Could you please double check if you've signed the Fedora contributor agreement on the Fedora Account Sysmte (FAS)?

We do sometimes have to make slight variations from upstream's builds (simply because upstreams use highly customised workflows that may not be generally reproducible), but we ensure that whatever tests they provide are run to check for correctness.

If you have a working spec ready, you can submit if for review and one of us will review it for inclusion in Fedora. We can sponsor you to the packager group too. I've collected a few links here that document the package review process and other related bits:

Please do get in touch whenever you need to---we're usually online during our work hours.
