#555 Package AstroVascPy
Opened by ankursinha. Modified

Please use this ticket to add new software to the NeuroFedora packaging queue.

New software: AstroVascPy

Short description: a Python library for computing the blood pressure and flow through the vasculature

Upstream URL: https://github.com/BlueBrain/astrovascpy

License: ASL 2.0

Domain: Computational modelling

Additional information

I packaged vascpy, a dependency also from BlueBrain, only to find out that AstroVascPy is not yet compatible with pandas >= 2. It seems to be related to the way they pickle as described in this issue. There's also a suggestion on how to make it work and preserve backwards compatibility. I haven't looked at the code yet. So, I'm not sure if I'll be able to provide a patch.

Both are packaged now. However, I'm waiting on upstream for clarification on astrovascpy console script: https://github.com/BlueBrain/AstroVascPy/issues/36

Preliminary builds can be found on Copr:

vascpy: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/gui1ty/reviews/build/7482853/
astrovascpy: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/gui1ty/reviews/build/7484322/

Upstream was quick to respond. Both packages are now up for review:

vascpy: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2283110
astrovascpy: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=2283111

The package has been up for review for some time:
