Upstream seems to include tests already: https://github.com/mne-tools/mne-bids/tree/master/mne_bids

In general, we will not carry tests locally. If we use any new ones, we must send them upstream and request them to make a new release. I.e. we stay close to upstream---we send all improvements upstream---we open issues for all bugs upstream. This is all documented here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Staying_close_to_upstream_projects
