this seems confusing to me.. when is the absolute latest time I can submit a talk?

This looks good to me. @dustymabe: July 15th. Maybe add something like "Submit early for a better chance of acceptance" or something?

We want to be able to tell people who need to arrange travel based on acceptance of a session sooner rather than later. Maybe we should spell that out? I dunno. It actually looks pretty good to me as it is, dusty's confusion not withstanding. :)

I've incorporated @dustymabe 's comment and added some of what @mattdm wrote. Barring objections, from them or the webteam/ @robyduck I think this is now ready to be merged.
