#506 fedorapeople.org shows copyright year as 2011
Closed: Invalid None Opened 9 years ago by cydrobolt.

Fedorapeople.org's footer has a copyright notice not updated since 2011.

It is worth noting that we do not need to update the date in an attribution statement order to retain the copyright. All it says is the initial date of the work. If we made substantive changes to the work, I would advise updating the date, but we don't need to change it just for the sake of it being a new year.

Yeah, agreed. I know we still retain the copyright without the date, but we look a bit dated with the 2011 notice.

It is questionable that you are able to update the copyright date without updating the content. The date of copyright starts from when it was published+100 years in the US, and without a major rewriting or production of new content.. just changing the date may be seen as shenanigans.

In other words, to update the copyright, significant amounts of new content may need to be generated versus. So if you have stuff that should be added, could you add it to the ticket?

I think we can close this as wontfix. Thanks smooge and spot for explanations.
