#474 broken links in fedoracommunity web site
Closed: Fixed None Opened 9 years ago by yn1v.

The web site http://www.fedoracommunity.org/latam has several broken links.

'''Web site''' points to http://www.proyectofedora.org/ which is unavailable. Furthemore this domain has been in conflict and does not respond to fedora latam collaborators control.

'''Events''' point to http://www.fedoracommunity.org/latam which is of no use to link to itself. The best link ate the moment will be
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Events?rd=FedoraEvents#Central_.26_South_America_.28LATAM.29

'''Latin America''' points to http://www.proyectofedora.org/ which as stated before is unavaliable.

'''Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Panama, and Peru''' points to sub directories of http://proyectofedora.org/ which as stated before is unavaliable

'''El Salvador''' points to http://fedora.org.sv/ wich is not found

'''Guatemala''' points to http://www.fedora.org.gt/ wich is not found

I think will be a nice addition to include links to '''ask fedora''' platform like:
https://ask.fedoraproject.org/es/
https://ask.fedoraproject.org/pt-br

Regarding the '''mailing lists''' I think that there are a couple of questions to be resolved. First, if it is included Embajadores-fedora-latam it also be included brasil-marketing which is the mailing list for ambassadors in Portuguese. But it will not better to point to user support list like es-user and br-user ? Spanish support list has been inactive over this year. Portugues support list it is very active.

Yes that's true, and we have a ticket for that (#265).

So the intention is to drop all the links whcih are not working anymore, we can't just replace them with another link, because listed domains need to meet all requirements listed here:[[br]]
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Local_community_domains

In ticket 265 we already have a nice list of which sites are no longer working and we will drop them, unless there are new local communities for the same countries willing to fit all requitements (in particular the trademark license agreement).

On our fedoracommunity pages we list only local communities, therefore we won't list any support site, like ask.fpo, although the idea is nice. I want to add here that the intention is to bring all these proposals into the new fedoraproject.org website we are writing for F21. This could also include the actual fedoracommunity site (maybe in the ambassador hub) and obviously all support channels we have.

If you have regional contacts to any of these sites which are no more working, please try to give us a feedback about what the intention is, otherwise we will delete the links and also the redirects of xx.fedoracommunity.org.

We fixed all the broken links, some of them have been dropped while others have been fixed (#265). All the (sub)domains of proyectofedora.org in the meanwhile are pointing to http://fedoraproject.org/es; their maintainers are working on an update.
