#241 Text of 2nd slide on Home Page (easy printing) doesn't show translated strings
Closed: Fixed None Opened 13 years ago by tezcatl.

At a first moment i think it were a problem with my own translated string (Spanish) related with a multiby-coding or something like that.

After trying two fixes, dropping the opening question symbol, and checking the commitdiffs of my last updates (since yesterday i noticed the defect), i realized maybe it wasn't my fault but a minor error on the code than pulls the translated string for po files.

I've checked versus translated strings in Asturianu, Catalá, French, Castilian of course, Indonesian language (i'm sorry by my ignorance at this). So i'm pretty sure is not a matter of locales or translations.

This is not a bug.
We updated the string to fix a spelling error, but the POT wasn't updated, causing the translated string to not appear.
Now when the POT is updated, the string will be marked as fuzzy, and you should check it. if it's fine, just make sure it isn't marked as fuzzy.

Thank you for the quick response.

I were actually waiting for the update but cause i didn't see it when i begin to checking another languages which i could spot the same problem, i thought than it was necessary to file the bug report.

However i checked after finishing some translations on the updated PO (spanish), and the "easy printing" doesn't displays yet the translated string, so, i reopen this bug.

I don't think it should be closed until really we can see the translated string.

Did you?

The website updates hourly for English, and daily for all other languages, around 9AM UTC.
I've closed the ticket because I know it's not a bug. It's just how things works around here.

I'm a translator myself, and I've updated the Hebrew translation before 9AM UTC, check and see, that the Hebrew string of this slide appears translated now.

I'm leaving this bug open for your request, but I know you'll close it tomorrow.

I just want to add a minor correction... all languages are updated hourly. Changes on the website should show up at :25 after the hour, assuming the translation was submitted before :00. Otherwise, the update will show in the next cycle.

Today at noon here in México (GMT-6), i've seen the translated string in the 2nd slide.

But early, in the morning (3-4 am) it wasn't showed yet. Just, fyi. ;)

Thank you very much people, by the good job you are doing on the site.
My compliments to all.
