#1164 Change download links on ARM landing page to 64-bit (aarch64) images
Opened 2 years ago by gui1ty. Modified 2 years ago

On the ARM landing page all download links are tied to the soon to be retired 32-bit armhfp images. There is no mention of the availability of 64-bit aarch64 images.

Since 32-bit armhfp will no longer be available from F37 onwards (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/RetireARMv7) the links should default to the 64-bit aarch64 images.

I have been bitten by this myself when looking for a Fedora image for my RPi3, which supports both architectures. A general search along the lines of "Fedora ARM Raspberry Pi" will lead to the landing page. Since there is no mention of other available architectures, people, unknowingly, will install a soon to be obsolete architecture.

I've seen people commenting on IRC, who made the same mistake. Since a reinstall is required to switch architecture, this also not trivial.

cc @pbrobinson could you make a comment about this please thank you

The aarch64 download images are on the main pages, once F-37 is out arm.fp.o should just go away as there's basically no distinction between x86_64 and aarch64, then there will be no confusion.
