Hey Folks, I was thinking to have some following badges requests :
Temporary Membership Approved : Awarded to newbies who get their Temporary membership approved, Can be awarded by members of the Join SiG manually once a newbie gets their Temporary membership approved
Temporary Membership Approved
Join Guide Awarded to people who become members of the Join SiG and help guide other newbies.
Join Guide
Badges can be a really great way share achievements and some newones that can be easily attainable provides inspiration to achieve more although we have some for new comers but not much with Join SiG specific.
Kindly share your thoughts guys.
Hello.
Talking about a badge for temporary membership, I don't agree very much. Temporary membership is not an achievement or a goal, but it is something like a technical workaround, useful to edit the wiki for instance, something that facilitates the newcomer to walk through the path to feel like a full member of the community.
About the other badge, yes, many teams (not all) have a badge. It could be an idea to explore.
Hey @alciregi agreed about the temporary membership, about the second badge, I hope we can give it second thought to appreciate the efforts of the join SiG people.
@ankursinha @alishapapun @hhlp & team, What do you guys think ?
It's the long easter holiday weekend, so we'll all be able to respond once we're back working from tomorrow :)

Happy Easter to the Team !!
I agree with @alciregi. No for a temporary membership, yes for a join team.
So, I'm all for badges (always!). Badges are used to reward contributors for remaining active: that's the idea of the gamification. So, in this case, we're rewarding the people in the join-sig using this badge? Is that the idea?

The Idea for the Badge is Once you get accepted into the Join SiG, You become a Join Guide like a CommOps Superstar and the badge needs to be manually awarded by a Join SiG member as nowadays the FAS link with the fedmsg bus seems to be broken and we add people with temporary membership approved in the same group too, so it would be great if we keep it manually awarded.
CommOps Superstar
temporary membership approved
I like the idea, +1 for the badge.
I think this can be done as part of a larger push to get more seasoned community members to join the SIG. Just a badge isn't enough IMO. What do folks think, probably a new ticket to discuss that, though?
I would say a badge for join sig members is definitely on the spot (fits right in the purpose and criteria of badges) but I am not sure about the temporary membership. so just as most of other folks +1 for members -1 for temporary members
+1 for members -1 for temporary members
I guess we have +1's for members of the join SiG Badge, Let's suggest some name on what the badge would be called, once we have it, I would love to open a ticket in Fedora-Badges.
From my Side : Join Guide (You're a Proud guide for newcomers in the Join SiG), What do you guys think ?

umm, Obi-Wan Kenobi: you help new comers to contribute and get comfortable in the community :P

I noticed we already have a join sig design would be pretty easy to have the same converted in a badge format/design/shape

Yeah turning it into a Badge would be pretty easy, That would need a little modification in the Design.
There were two designs for the telegram channel logo, so the second one could be used for the badge.
Would someone have the time to fetch them and commit them to our repo under an Artwork folder?

@ankursinha Here's my PR for that : https://pagure.io/fedora-join/Fedora-Join/pull-request/202
Kindly review the artwork and if it's the right ones, kindly merge it.
Hello guys, just went through your deliberations on getting a new join SIG badge. Would it be okay if I make the draft from the design previously made for Telegram logo??
@ankursinha @nasirhm @siddharthvipul1 What do you think? :)
Definitely, Thank you for doing this. And as Ankur has already mentioned, using second design as a badge is great solution.
Thank You, I've opened a ticket in the Fedora Badges#736 to keep track of the Badge.
We Have the Following name candidates for the Badge for the Join SiG members :
Can we have the team +1 or suggest some new names for it.
I'm +1 for the first one.
+1 for the first one
+1 for the second description
I think the badge is called "welcome wagon". Not sure if it's been pushed yet. That'll be tracked here:
https://pagure.io/fedora-badges/issue/736
I'm going to close this ticket.
