#6233 Notice about rhbz email address not matching FAS account
Closed: Fixed 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by besser82.

I'm opening this ticket as @pingou asked me on IRC to do so.

Today I got an email about fixing my rhbz account, because my email adresse there doesn't match the one in FAS. I'm using my besser82@fp.o email alias on rhbz since quite a while (a year or so) on rhbz and @kevin had setup a mapping for that.

In the given circumstances, getting this notice is a bit confusing for me. Do you have any idea, why this has been sent out to me?

@ralph we will need to see how to adjust the script for these overrides. There are several.

Just got this mail a second time…

@pingou reports that this is still broken.

I've temporarilly disabled the notification to users while we sort it out: https://infrastructure.fedoraproject.org/cgit/ansible.git/commit/?id=fe15aa7ae0af1fd12e48e114295946c8aa31b285

Currently we're receiving emails for:
- fedora -- besser82.io
- ctubbsii+fedora -- gmail
- niels -- nixpanic.net
- fedora -- wildebeest.org
- benjamin.lefoul -- nwise.se
- shawn -- redhat.com
- amitshah -- gmx.net

I've received approximately 50 emails so far about this, with about 10 just today. So, it does not appear fixed. I recall some discussion awhile back about users being able to specify a preferred email address in FAS, but I don't see that option yet at https://admin.fedoraproject.org/accounts/

It seems like the best fix would be to implement that, and make users explicitly specify which email address to link. Long-term, I'd prefer to migrate away from BZ and use the repo-local issue trackers available in pagure (like this issue! so convenient! perhaps not for everything, but making this an option would be nice). That way, there'd be no need to require separate BZ accounts to sync.

From my side it looks like it is fixed though I do not know how it got fixed.

@ralph or @kevin did you do something to fix this?

I believe @ralph fixed this yesterday and we have not seen any error email since.

@ralph can you confirm the script is running (so that if we didn't receive any error it's not due to the fact that the script isn't running)? If it is then I think we can close this ticket :)

@besser82 the mapping is hard-coded in: https://github.com/fedora-infra/python-fedora/blob/develop/fedora/client/fas2.py#L145. I don't see your email address in there but I may have missed it. If you add your email address in there, there shouldn't be any problems with fedrepo-req-admin processing the ticket.

@ralph the fas2.py from ansible.git/pagure should be synced with the one on github, to fix the problem @mprahl was talking about…

Bjorn is right. The hotfixed fas2.py in ansible.git is in advance of the one on github. We need a python-fedora maintainer.

This is related to https://pagure.io/fedrepo_req/issue/79 which also does not honor my RHBZ e-mail address properly.

I submitted a PR upstream to sync these email address changes:
https://github.com/fedora-infra/python-fedora/pull/201/files

OK, we think this is resolved now.

I'm re-enabling user notification here:
https://infrastructure.fedoraproject.org/cgit/ansible.git/commit/?id=7de3957b9e4edea5a691798550a07b51ea1b17d8

Will leave this ticket open to see if notifications generate any further feedback. Otherwise, we should close this in a few days.

I guess we can close it. I haven't yet heard anything back from anyone... ;(
