#11403 Please create a gitlab namespace for the Asahi SIG
Closed: Fixed 11 months ago by ryanlerch. Opened a year ago by dcavalca.

Describe what you would like us to do:

We'd like to request a space for the Asahi SIG on GitLab, under https://gitlab.com/fedora/sigs/asahi. This should have myself and @ngompa as owners. The FAS group for the SIG is asahi-sig. Thanks!

When do you need this to be done by? (YYYY/MM/DD)

not urgent

we can set up membership and ownership of the gitlab group using FAS groups:

we can use asahi-sig for the devel role on gitlab.

i can also setup a new fas group "asahi-sig-admin" with you can @ngompa in it, and link it to the owners role in gitlab.

does that work?

that way if you want to add a new developer, just add them to the asahi-sig group in fas, and same for asahi-sig-admin group for owners in gitlab.

Ok Done:

https://gitlab.com/fedora/sigs/asahi

Yourself and your users that are members of the two groups will be automatically added to the group next time they log in with Fedora Gitlab SSO (https://gitlab.com/groups/fedora/-/saml/sso)

Note too, that gitlab will still allow you to edit user permissions in the UI -- but these changes won't persist -- if you want to add someone to the gitlab group you will need to add them to the FAS group, and they will get the permissions on GitLab.
