#10604 Documentation team access rights to gitlab docs subproject
Closed: Fixed 2 years ago by darknao. Opened 2 years ago by darknao.

The documentation team is looking to start experimenting with Gitlab, and moving some of our repos over there.
Can some of us get access to the already created subproject https://gitlab.com/fedora/docs ?

Owner type permissions would be preferable so we can invite other team members later on, if that is possible.

So, we talked about this before, but I can't seem to find the old ticket.

It boils down to:

  • We can just add those folks as owners and you can self manage other users permissions, etc.

  • We can use saml groups for permissions. However, this requires us to only use SAML groups and one group per permission. So we would need to create:

gitlab-docs-owners
gitlab-docs-maintainer
gitlab-docs-developers
gitlab-docs-reporter
gitlab-docs-guest

and exactly those users in each of those groups will get those permissions.

I'm guessing you want to do the first (self serve)? But I thought I would ask.

I would say that the first option seems much easier to manage, especially since we are only experimenting at this stage.

ok. I've added bcotton as owner (as he already requested it), but can I get the gitlab id's for the rest of you?

Here they are:
- pbokoc
- darknao

@pboy Can you confirm your gitlab ID is pboy1?

Thanks kevin :)
I think we can take it from here.
