#10247 disassociating my account from the @java-maint-sig group
Closed: Insufficient data 2 years ago by decathorpe. Opened 2 years ago by decathorpe.

I have not been a member of the @java-maint-sig FAS group for a while, yet I still am somehow associated with the group in some way in FAS. For example, I continue to get notifications for packages I am in no way associated with any longer (yes, I checked that I am not watching those packages on src.fedoraproject.org). I seem to be listed as the group's founder / creator even if I'm no longer a member (so I'm not sure if that bears any meaning or has any effect on the fedora-notifications app).

Additionally, I would like to be removed as the owner of the private java-maint-sig mailing list. I am not a list member, so that responsibility should not lie with me (and I have also done zero list maintenance since I left the group).

I would also like to hand over the password for the SIG's bugzilla account, but since there's nobody active in the SIG, I don't know who I should hand it over to.

EDIT: I also created a taiga board for the group here: https://teams.fedoraproject.org/project/java-package-maintainer-sig Not sure what can - or should - be done about that one. Taiga seems to be offline right now, so I can't even check if I can remove myself from the project.

Can you poassibly attach one of the notices (with headers if email)?

I don't have email notifications enabled at all (I am not prepare to drink from that firehose for 1000+ packages). But these are some of the most recent IRC notifications I got for packages that I have nothing to do with:

  • browseria@hotmail.com filed a new bug RHBZ#2008228 'Update Maven in Fedora 35 to 3.8.2' 10 minutes ago https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2008228
  • A new version of "jboss-modules" has been detected: "2.0.0.Final" newer than "1.12.0.Final", packaged as "jboss-modules" https://release-monitoring.org/project/89332/
  • bpeck/jenkins-continuous-infra.apps.ci.centos.org's jaxb-istack-commons-3.0.11-4.eln112 failed to build 3 minutes ago http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=1768287

I am not watching any of these packages on src.fedoraproject.org, and I also didn't even get CC'd on the bugzilla that was filed in the first IRC message. So I really have no idea why I'm still getting those notifications.

What bot / user is sending you these messages?

Those are from the fedora-notif IRC account, presumably it's part of the Fedora notifications app.

@pingou would you have any idea where it might be caching this? I would think restarting it would get it to re-cache, but I think it's been restarted more recently that the start of this issue.

It seems like this issue has gone away, so maybe it was a caching problem. I have not received any notifications for previously-owned-by-java-maint-sig-or-me packages in weeks.
