#134 Content for infographic to highlight accomplishments of D&I Team!
Closed: complete 3 years ago by bee2502. Opened 3 years ago by smeragoel.

As a thank you for all the efforts you guys put in spreading awareness about diversity in Fedora within and outside the Fedora community and supporting community building and engagement activities for fostering inclusion, the design team is working on a set of infographics to highlight the accomplishments of all the people who worked and contributed to Fedora in the past year.

For this, we request you to share accomplishments, stories, metrics etc. of individuals and/or teams in your group. It can be anything from D&I Initiatives, participation demographics to number of people impacted etc.

Best story I have about diversity team (so far, and among a huge list of others) would be the creation of the Flock Budapest 2019 video.

Despite having the idea before the trip, despite knowing that it was a set goal I had, it took me to the last 3 hours of the final day to actually build it... I wasn't sure I would pull this insane task together, but with the help of the awesome D&I team (both with script, gathering our "actors" and providing me with an insane amount of sodas and coffee to edit 40Gb of video in just 45min) we made it possible...

It's amazing what team work, and nice motivation can do.

One that comes to mind right away is number of Fedora Women Days in 2019, and we could also count how many different countries :)

Hey folks! Just following up here :)
We don't want to miss out on any accomplishments that deserve to be shared with everyone!

Hey @smeragoel, thanks for working on this!

@nikhilkathole did great work on collecting feedback and data from FWD 2018 attendees and organizers. The results of that work are summarized here:

https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/diversity@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/BRLPDPZ4HQ7ULJPWHXDTVMHSQKYXP3MV/

I'll try to think of anything else that comes to mind… there is probably a lot of history in our past closed tickets.

Thanks @jflory7 for pointing me to it.

Here are some of the blog posts and links to highlight some work -

  1. Fedora Women Day -

  3. Council Report -

  4. There are many collective reports from FWD and I am sure @jonatoni can point to latest council reports as well.

Thanks for doing it.

@jflory7 @amsharma Thanks for your input! These links are a great help :)

This sounds like an excellent list of accomplishments already! I would also like to add "speak a non-English language" event proposed by D&I team at FLOCK 2019 which I think was a great way to foster inclusion in the community

Does it have to be from past one year? If not, I can probably think of a few more.

Awesome, I'll check it out!

Not strictly, no.

At FLOCK 2018, we organized an Unconscious Bias and Imposter Syndrome workshop for community members.

Then, we have a relatively older video showing diversity in Fedora community here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ig0gnM9jsm0

Thank You @smeragoel for working on it. It's absolutely amazing :star2:

:100: Awesome work @smeragoel Much thanks!

I opened a new good first issue #154 on adding this to our docs. I am closing this ticket as complete now.
