#173 Adding a notification message that moves continuously at the bottom of the page
Closed: out of scope 5 years ago by jonatoni. Opened 5 years ago by saidat.

Summary
I think there is a need for adding a notification message bar at the bottom of the page.

Background

A notification message keeps on moving at the bottom of the page notifying people about the changes made, availability of opportunities like internships, jobs, reminders, news and updates going around.

Outcome
encourage more people to visit the website since they will be checking on the availability of the opportunities, news and updates

Hey @saidat. The idea is nice, but could you elaborate what in specific you want in the notification (in news/reminders) ? Since the project is open source, I don't think the site would require high maintenance or would be requiring any jobs/internships since the project is open source. I am not sure but I don't think notification message bar is exactly what the project demands. Lets @jflory7 throw some more light into the issue's necessity.

@saidat Great idea but i don't think it aligns with the project goals

Hey @saidat
Thank you for this idea.
However I am unsure of it's integration in this project, I think @jflory7 will better be able to tell you why.

Also, I see that you have opened multiple issues ( #171 , #172 and #173 ) for suggestive changes that you think will make this project better.

What I would suggest, in cases like such where a contributor has multiple suggestions is to open a single issue with a title like 'Suggestions for improvement' or similar, and the description can have the various suggestions that you have for the project listed as pointers (bullet points).

This way, all the suggestions can be addressed at once at one place without having to switch in between various issues and the discussion will be streamlined

Hey @jflory7 @jonatoni , does this sound like something that we can have in our contributions file..???

This can be a good first issue for someone to take up and work on.

Also, for such suggestive improvements, does it sound reasonable to have just one issue titled 'suggestive improvements' or something similar and have the contributors put out their suggestions there, which can then be discussed upon and then proceed further to open an individual issue, a PR, or conclude as out of scope.

I think this is out of our scope, because the goal of this website is to say thank you to other people and encourage them. Sending Happiness Packets it is not the same with the outcome that @saidat has mentioned.

@phoenixabhishek I think it is better for now having separated issues, because we might have cases that we will not approve all the ideas that have and it is easier to track them on separated issues. @phoenixabhishek does it makes sense the explanation?
