#932 New Badge: Fedora Linux 40 Release Party Attendee Badge
Closed: pushed 4 months ago by gui1ty. Opened 4 months ago by neil.

Badge description (like "You added a co-maintainer to a package. BFF!"):
- You attended the Fedora Linux 40 Release Party online in May 2024!

Help the badges team understand what this idea is all about. If this badge is
awarded for certain kinds of activities:

1) What are those activities?
- Register for the virtual event, attend, and find the Badge claim code in the event.

2) Who is doing them (are they packagers? translators? newcomers? veterans? users? sponsors?)
- Fedora contributors and users around the world.

3) Why are they doing them (is this a means to a different end?)
- We are celebrating the release of Fedora 40 with lots of great changes from our community

4) When do they do them (every day? once a year?)
- 24-25 May, 2024

5) How do they do them (by talking in IRC? by running commands in the console? using a web interface?)
- Click a URL embedded in the virtual event or scan a QR code in the welcoming remarks

Lastly, do you have any ideas for artwork concepts?

Check out past designs:

  • Ticket #920: Fedora Linux 39 Release Party & 20th Anniversary Celebration Attendee Badge
  • Ticket #903: Fedora Linux 38 Release Party Attendee Badge (badge)
  • Ticket #889: Fedora Linux 37 Release Party Attendee Badge (badge)

This is a historic badge series in Fedora, with the first request for a Release Party Badge going back 10 years ago this month, in October 21st, 2013 (see #189).

The timeline for the badge is ~three weeks. The event is 24-25 May.

@rolandixor Any chance you could help us get this one prepped? It is on a shorter timeline since the event is 24-25 May. It should be easy since we have a template from past Release Parties. Thanks!

@neil I appreciate you remembering this and opening the ticket!

This looks fantastic from my POV :) Thanks!

I like the green one's stuck out tongue :D

Thanks! I can't take credit for the tongue, lol

@gui1ty Sorry for the late ping! Could we get this badge pushed up? Thank you!

Yeah, sure. But I need @abompard to take a look at the sync script. I uploaded the DevConf.cz badges a few days ago, but they are still not showing up. Then the voting drama happened and I forgot to chase Aurélien.

Any way, the images are pushed to the repo. Once they are available on the server, I can proceed.

Nevermind. The images are there, I can proceed. Will discuss with @abompard what's wrong with DevConf.cz.

Badge has been pushed:

I authorized @jflory7 for now. Let me know if other people need authorization.
