I decided to use the same concept used for the Extra! Extra! badge. I just added a painting brush and a featured image icon.
Would anyone prefer a totally different concept?
Once the concept is approved, I'll start adding the figures to make it a series.

@viv this concept works great! It looks good :)

A couple suggestions to improve the design:
- right now the brown paintbrush blends in with the grey on the badger. Maybe try to make it a lighter brown and a brighter blue for the paint?
- love the sky/hill graphic, and it is perfectly simple. I do think it has a bit of the same issue, the two colors are blending together when you look at a small size. Try increase the contrast between the blue and green :)

Here's some feedback for everyone:

- The numbers are really tiny, and not legible. Keep in mind that the badges are small in size, so tiny details will be easily missed. Also, badge numberings have a typical style, I'd encourage you to go through the style guide here: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/badges/design-badges/

- I'd also encourage you to go through the style guide for the numbering style. The strokes should be a bit thicker and bold for the numbering to be prominent.

- It seems that you have maybe changed the size of the badge template, and maybe squeezed the background also. Avoid making changes to the template. The numbering stands out but maybe it is a bit too close to the border, and also doesn't match the badge numbering style exactly.

Make sure to use the correct typeface (Comfortaa) for the numbers!

This badge is to be assigned by some rule. Does every merged PR in said repo lead to a publication? Otherwise I wouldn't know how to come up with a rule to award this badge.

I'd go with having a commit in the history, rather than a PR. People with commit rights may or may not open a PR when creating an image.

But I'm not involved with Magazine anymore, so I'll let @glb and @rlengland make the final decision.

It sounds good to me. As Ben pointed out, the editors sometimes push directly to this repo. We could just tell people not to do that though. Either way is fine with me.

@kavyaaaa Just a couple notes:
- Make sure to upload both the PNG and SVGs for badge designs
- Since the background is pretty light, I would go with a darker stroke, medium mid tone, and white body for the numbering
- Stick to Fedora & badge colors, make sure you have the palettes installed and are using colors from those as often as possible

@lydiaogh this is getting closer! Some notes for you:
- I think you might be having issues with the template still.. the file in this comment should be good to go :)
- Make sure you upload both the PNGs and SVGs

@duchessolive nice work! This is pretty close. Some notes for you:
- The template looks a bit off.. the sizing looks alright but maybe it go moved to the left?
- I think it would be better to keep the placement of the numbering the same from badge to badge. Out of all the options, I think the "50" design numbering placement is the best
- Take a look at the badge this is based on, gray might be a nice choice.. I would also add in the midtone.. you could import the artwork from the original ticket and use the numbering from those designs :)

Hi folks, I'd give a general review to everyone to avoid some common mistakes:
- Review the Badges' numbering style in the style guide. Notice the strokes and the colour tones
- Additionally, it'd be helpful to review badge numbering in practice, for example: this is the same format as the current design, also this is cute.

These examples should give you an idea of the style we need.

@kavyaaaa the numbers look good, I'd say just use a lighter shade of blue from the Fedora palette and we should be good to go!

@duchessolive nice work, these are almost complete! Notes for you:
- I prefer the grey lettering versions you've created over the blue versions
- I would center the numbers in the space given.. so for example, the "25" and "50" are great as is, but the "1" and "5" are a bit close the the badger and can be centered in that space

@kavyaaaa these are almost complete as well! Notes for you:
- I think there is something off about the template, I opened your SVG and the padding around the badge does not match the template. Make sure you are not making adjustments to that
- The blue lettering is good, I think you can make the white part a bit more bold and the medium and dark blues a bit smaller in stroke width.. they are looking a little fuzzy and I think this will help bring some clarity

Hi @falyne these are also getting close to complete! Notes for you:
- It looks like the layered numbers are uneven. .. meaning they are not directly underneath the white lettering.. make sure those stay stacked on top of each other
- The numbering is just a bit too close to the newspaper (almost touching it, but not quite).. I would move those down a bit so that it is balanced in that space between the badger, newspaper, and the edge of the badge design area
