cdrskin is a sub-package of libburn.
libburn is available in appstream. libburn-devel is available in codeready-builder-for-rhel-8. But cdrskin is not available anywhere.
k3b requires cdrskin to run.
I believe cdrskin is a poorly named packages.
I'm pretty sure when the people selecting what goes in and out of RHEL8 looked at it, they though it meant "The skin, or graphical theme, of the cdr program." Basically thinking that "skin" was a noun, something on the outside of the program.
But "skin" in cdrskin is a verb. It uses the word as "take the outer layer of something off".
By not having cdrskin in RHEL8 (not just CRB) RHEL8 is missing alot of it's CD/DVD functionality.
I propose that cdrskin should go in RHEL8 AppStream.
We now have a formal policy to allow EPEL8 to build with these missing packages.
You need to open a CentOS issue that states what devel package is missing and packages it is affecting. File the bug against the CentOS-8 Project, with the Category of _unreleased_devel_packages.
If you are unable to open a CentOS issue, please let me know, and I will open one for you.
If that is the case, please let me know specifically what package are missing, and what packages cannot be built because of it.
