#15 Create ticket on Pagure for Anon Pull-Requests
Opened 6 years ago by decause. Modified 5 years ago

We need a blurb to put into the ticket describing what this is and why.

IMHO I don't think it is a good idea looking at the legal perspective

Every fedora contributor should be signing https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Legal:Fedora_Project_Contributor_Agreement

it's better that we contact the Legal team before making this decision

Not every change requires the FPCA. If I'm a drive-by contributor who wants to correct a misspelling or a typo, that change is not sufficient to be considered intellectual property. There is no need to contact the legal team here, because we already understand that substantial contributions may require the FPCA. That problem is a technical one, not a legal one. We still want to enable small contributions that do not trigger the need for the FPCA.

However, we do need to settle (1) how to prevent abuse/spam, and (2) how to process an anonymous PR with a real IP concern, like a paragraph of text.

There is always spam :(

A PR will always have a new commit in place so, it just boils down to how to relate a IP with a commit and that could be solved by pagure developers, but I am not sure how much priority they are give to our RFE as their hands are full with lot's of issues https://pagure.io/pagure/issues.

let's not Hijack the issue here, may be we can discuss about the same once the issues is created on the pagure repo

The reason this issue was created to write some description of what the anonymous pull request are (self-explanatory) why do we need them.

Use-case: A Fedora user want to fix a spelling mistake or add a simple line or paragraph in the Fedora documentation but he has to go through the process of creating a fedora account, which is a burden for just a simple fix.
