Additional information

Agenda is not clear, are there any introductory Fedora sessions planned? How many attendees are expected?

Event owner was supposed to also keep me informed, as I am a contact for the venue; TL;DR => venue has not been confirmed

No agenda has been set up.

Please provide more details about the event... especially as https://beijinglug.club/event/f26-relparty-and-h4f/?instance_id=263 shows conflicting information about the time in the artwork, and the location "Red Hat Beijing" office is not descriptive as there are two offices: Parkview Green and Raycom.

I'm not sure you need formal CFP for a release party. It's meant for Fedora contributors to come together and celebrate a new release and introduce Fedora to new guests and invitees.

Note that, recently, I am busying daily job and personal issue, could @gbraad help more for this release party?

@pjp I agree with you, even no CFP, we could also recruiting talks and someone may speak out extempore, lightning talk, I mean.

@pjp This is a precondition; this is related to the fact that the community here in China is (too) small. If the event is not interesting enough, it is not an event we should have as no new guests are willing to join. See note below: if no-one comes, the location is NOT recommended.

@tonghuix Is it feasible to have the event as scheduled? My schedule only allowed to assist, not plan the event.

Note: having the facility/office booked for a day in the weekend is costly (personnel needs to come in to handle security). If it is just drinking a cola or a coffee and mentioning some talking points, we do not need to schedule it in the office. If so, it can be informal in a nearby cafe. But as mentioned above, my experience with other events in China, such as BLUG meetings, when there is no topic, people will ignore it.

Adhoc speaking is not a problem... but it is the initial message you give to attract people in our case.

I plan CANCEL this event due to no more talk submitted, and time's too rush for this.

@gbraad What do you think? Do you agree?

Closing this ticket, as we are well past the proposed event date Saturday, 29th July 2017.
