Mainland China (Beijing) won't request for DVDs due to outstanding legal issue.

Is it possible to get some DVDs shipped to Coimbatore? Its ~350km from Bangalore.

@izhar @bex you might have records of the actual budget spent. FAmSCo has been asked to look into this ticket, but we are not aware at all how far APAC has spent its budget.
@pjp any chance to get regional votes on this?

@robyduck afaik this is accurate: https://budget.fedoraproject.org/FY18/apac.html

I haven't heard from @izhar in a while and I am worried that FAmSCo may need to take more action here to help APAC.

Yes, we based our estimates on the first quarter, and there seems to be some budget left. The concern here is the numbers are from 2 months ago.

I'm not aware of the actual amounts spent, above ones seem reasonable.

@Izhar has not been responding to private messages too.

If possible I'd like to take over APAC card-holder responsibilities for a while. As Izhar seems quite occupied.

As far as I know this is all of the money APAC had spent all year. Unless there are unified tickets, we know everything.

Temporary card holder transfers are not easy. The region needs to consider whether it is time to identify a new treasurer and a new card holder.

I do not believe the positions should be combined in the future. (I also think the two regions where they are should split them.)

JFYI, there is request for another 350 odd DVDs from couple of people.
Ie. 910 + 350 => 1260 say ~1300 in total.

Do you have so many planned events to need all this DVD media? 1300 are a lot for three months, having also August as a silly holiday month (consider F27 has a release target by the end of October!!)

Sorry for all these questions, but we should try to limit this expense as much as possible in favor of events or other funding requests, although I understand DVDs in APAC are much more requested than in other regions.

Hi PJP,

budget wise there are no issue because APAC barely have any activities this year. I've gotten verification key for activation of the new CC, but now trying to find right time to call the bank because of timezone.

On planned activities where the DVDs going to be distributed to, can i have some details? considering the rest of APAC besides India is pretty much silent nowadays.

Yes, these are distributed at release parties and events at various colleges.

(consider F27 has a release target by the end of October!!)

That seems too soon.

True. I have asked the ambassadors to write posts about their events and share inputs about impact of the the given DVDs and how they help in growing Fedora community.

@pjp https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/27/Schedule

We slipped with F26 but that didn't slip the F27 release schedule. Also, we won't have any Alpha release.

Two(Belgaum and Coimbtore) of the release parties/events are planned at engineering colleges.

In Bangalore, one of the ambassadors runs FreeMedia program, and responds to various media requests.

In Aurangabad: we have a promoter of a training institute who uses Fedora to teach Linux and shares these Fedora DVDs with students.

I have requested them all to share their experiences/insights via blog posts.

I see. Maybe we could go with the initial batch of 910(~1000) DVDs and defer the additional 350 to F27.

Normally, you will get better quotes if you order stocks of 1000 pieces, and you said:ยด
Rs 27 per Dvd min qty 1000 pcs.
Which is around 420$ + shipping. I am not aware how much shipping costs are, but I see the requests are almost all from India, so it shouldn't be too much.

Would it be ok for you if we go for 450-500$ including shipping? That should give you the possibility to send some media also to the people you added (350 pieces). Seems you have budget for that, but the less you spend of that, the more you will have for other things this year ;)

Take a look at what LATAM is going to do for events. I think the same level of reporting (and process) is a good idea.

It'd be nice if this person fixed the free media SIG ...

Yes, this should be good. RH generally helps with shipping too.

Seems you have budget for that, but the less you spend of that,

True. I try to keep these media expenses as minimum as possible. ex. I try to avoid shipping whenever possible; I'm due to travel via Pune early next month, I'm going carry the DVDs
with me. From Pune, they pick them up for Aurangabad as well. I did the same last year too.

Thank you.

Great! Thank you so much.

Hello, @Izhar,

This one is ready for reimbursement, please process it sooner.

Thank you.

Ping...?

@Izhar: please process this faster, I need to ship bunch of DVDs to Yan in Myanmar, ie. an international courier.

Thank you.

@pjp I don't see any paypal information for you in this ticket. I have an alternative I'd like to test that will send the money to you in Rupees. If you want to test that please ping me via mail or on IRC.

@izhar I am concerned that 8 days has gone by with no answer from you. I believe you should consider splitting the treasurer and credit card holder job to help ensure coverage for when you get busy. We all have work and life that comes up and stops us from contributing as we want too. Right now, because you hold both roles no one else in APAC can help. What do you think?

Hello Brian,

@pjp I don't see any paypal information for you in this ticket.

Thank you.

This has been paid. I will open a new issue re: CC holder

Someone please close this ticket as resolved.

Yes, amount received. Thank you so much for the swift reimbursement.
