#236 FAD for APAC budget planning

FAD Yogyajarta is being planned on 23-24 Jul 2016 for APAC budget planning session.

In today's APAC Ambassador's meeting, it was discussed and proposed that it'll be better if we could shift the event to Jakarta, on 09 - 10 Jul 2016.

New proposed dates: 09 - 10 July 2016
New Proposed venue: Jakarta, Indonesia (for better flight connectivity)

In case, above change is not feasible/doable, we need a backup plan for another city in the APAC region.

<gnokii> options are only Vietnam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar and China right now

Although for backup, I'd mention the most difficult problem regarding China: Visa. Only Singapore, Japan and Brunei citizens are conditional visa-free to enter China. Others should apply for visa and it takes some time. Please take this into consideration when deciding the backup.

While the dates is basically during a major holiday week (Eid public holiday is on 6-7th July, and most ppl will take 8th off), I've get confirmation that I can use the office for FAD on 9th and 10th july.

Is there a FAD organizing page somewhere? Need to check what are the tasks i need to do besides confirming venue, coordinating flight, visa invitation letter, and accommodation.

How many will be coming from India & Myanmar? (as these countries might face visa issues)

*no, you have to do you own wiki page.

*main task are organizing the meeting space (should be easily you use RH office) and accomodation not to far and to expensive. And thinking on a social dinner option.

*just one from India and one from Myanmar (if Yan can come) its the budget FAD so one a country

some updates.

a room nearby the office for 2 pax ranges between MYR90-MYR150-MYR300 (~USD21-USD37-USD75). Mostly at MYR150 range.

all are walking distance from the office.

We need to finish preparation soon, then call for participants to select ones to attend. Flight fare may increase.

Hi all,

I'm waiting for final list of participants as that is the current main blocker to my tasks on the ground. Tasks like booking for flight and booking hotel cant be done until list of participants are confirmed.

Currently looking at the wiki, only 3 applicants. Can help me with getting the list ready?. We are already behind schedule in confirming participants.

Izhar, for some there must be spoken directly so far nobody knows about the FAD yet, I didnt see a meeting logfile where it was said.

It was due for last(27 May 2016) APAc meeting; But There was only me and Danishka who joined, so it was called off. I'll send out an email announcing the meet-up and call for participation.

Bus is preferable because it brings you straight to the middle of KL, nearby the office, while flight will get you to either subang (~50KM away) or KLIA (~80KM away). I suggest checking out aeroline as that bus is more comfortable and have predictable schedule compared to normal busses.

As per APAC regional meeting [1], the first subsidy approval meeting is at 4:00UTC on Saturday, June 11th, 2016.
