#223 Look more closely at testcloud for our use case
Closed: Fixed None Opened 9 years ago by tflink.

While the no-cloud disposable client PoC uses [[https://github.com/Rorosha/testCloud|testCloud]], we need to go through a few things before we can start looking at using it in an eventual production system:
what features would testCloud need before we could start using it in more than a PoC?
does it make sense to keep using testCloud instead of forking it and fully integrating into libtaskotron (I hope not, but possible)

Once we have this figured out, we can start creating new tickets to help with testCloud development and/or adding features to libtaskotron

<tflink> it's mostly looking through the PoC code and getting a list of stuff that we'll need from/for testcloud
<roshi> I've added testCloud as a project
<roshi> https://phab.qadevel.cloud.fedoraproject.org/project/view/20/
<roshi> and broke out some known issues there
<tflink> since there aren't any real alternatives and it's pretty close to what we need - I suspect that it'll end up being easier to work with testcloud than to roll our own
<roshi> this week I hope to get my local branch cleaned up and pushed to gh so others can work on it
<roshi> it's in a state of, uh, nasty looking since I kinda stopped working on it mid-way through for other stuff

I think that this is effectively done - I'm not aware of any competing proposals to using testcloud for disposable clients. If I'm forgetting/missing something, please reopen
