#75 Run graphical-based smoke tests on composed images
Opened 9 years ago by tflink. Modified 6 years ago

This'll need to be broken up into more manageable pieces but I wanted to at least get the basics written down so that they can be tracked.

I talked with mclasen on IRC today about getting some basic smoke tests for various gnome bits running in Taskotron. The short version of what he's looking for is to run the kind of tests that are currently done on [[http://build.gnome.org/#/|build.gnome.org]] run on Fedora composes.

The basic process would be:

trigger on compose completion

get images (probably rawhide/branched Workstation live)

boot image to autologin in a graphical environment

install the various test packages (most gnome bits have test packages in Fedora that can be run)

run the packaged test suites, taking screenshots @ completion

process log events (might be able to steal this from build.gnome.org, not sure about the details)

store all the screenshots and log output in a publicly accessible place

Determine what Taskotron bits would be needed in order to support this and how the task would work. It sounds like we can get some help from the gnome folks once Taskotron is capable of handling such a task, should keep them synced on our progress.
