I supposed we had the same ansible script for all the hosts? What's different there?
I used the workaround temporarily for https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Taskotron/Tasks .
production and stg are mostly identical - there are some differences in the number of public-facing proxy servers and how the hosts connect to those proxy servers but AFAIK, that's true of all stg/prod hosts.
dev, on the other hand is somewhat different. there is no dev proxy in infra, so resultsdb and resultsdb_frontend are proxied directly by taskotron-dev which has an external IP address, its own SSL cert etc.
We can experiment with making them behave the same but I'm not sure it's worth the effort for dev
