#23 RATS replacement with Koji image building
Opened 10 years ago by kparal. Modified 6 years ago

Koji will soon have an option to build disk images using a provided kickstart. In the background, it is done by running an automated anaconda installation. We could use this functionality to revive our RATS testing - automated kickstarted installation testing. The task would just create a new image job in Koji and wait for completion.

I like the idea but I'm pretty strongly against reviving the RATS code that we had in autoqa. It might be a good prep directive that could lead to checks with beaker or whatever else we end up using for installation testing.

I didn't want to revive RATS code, just the RATS check idea. If I understand the talk correctly, all the implementation would be on Koji side. We would just run "koji build-image" and wait for the result.
