As noted in #437, the registration process is a bit painful when folks use phabricator for the first time. While we've attempted to work around that with some text/warnings, the ideal solution would be to have more seamless integration with FAS. It should be possible to extend the existing Persona auth mechanism (or use openid if someone is really brave) to do the following in a phabricator extension:

I wouldn't call it done, more of a "will be invalid within a year".
Persona is going away and we'll have to figure something else out before the end of the year.
