Describe the issue This change proposal is proposing to remove make from the default Buildroot in Fedora. This will require updating the build group in koji and also the buildsys-build group in comps.
When do you need this? (2021/01/19) We would like to complete this before the F34 mass rebuild starts. However, this change cannot be made before gcc 11 has been tagged into f34.
When is this no longer needed or useful? (2020/02/09)
If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact? We will need to postpone this change request until f35.

Is it possible to make this change in the side-tag for the f34 mass rebuild before doing it in the main tag?
We are about 2 weeks from the mass rebuild, so I wanted to ping this issue and check if this is something that could be done in the mass rebuild side-tag.
Yes. Yes we can. We just need to make sure and remove make from the 'build' group after making the side tag and before using it.
ie, koji block-group-pkg f34-rebuild build make
@mohanboddu can we remember to do that?
You want us to then remove it from f34-build after the mass rebuild? Or whats the timing on that?
Yes, the plan is to remove it from f34-build after the mass rebuild. I will monitor the mass rebuild and then update this ticket when it is ready to be removed from f34-build.

I think this it's safe to make this change in the f34-build tag now. There are only ~400 total failures, which indicates to me that there are no major problems with removing make. If there were problems, I would expect 1000s of failures. It's possible some of the failures are related to make, but I clicked through some and couldn't find any.
Done!
