#9439 Different directory layout for release and updates repository.
Closed: Fixed 2 years ago by mohanboddu. Opened 3 years ago by adrian.

In addition to the directory layout confusion in https://pagure.io/releng/issue/9429 I wanted to mention that one possible source of this confusion could be related to the different layout in the release/ directory tree compared to the updates/ directory tree.

In release/ the source RPMS are stored in source/tree/Packages in updates/ the source RPMS are stored in SRPMS/Packages.

Maybe it would make sense to have it for release/ and updates/ in the same location.

From what I know, the directory structure in master mirror is created during mash days and when pungi started doing updates composes, it generated them in a different dir structure. So, we updated new-updates-sync script to sync content from pungi dir structure to old mash dir structure.

@lsedlar Any way we can generate pungi composes in the old mash dir format?

I think this is just a difference between pungi configs/sync scripts. It might be nice to standardize...

Closing the ticket as we moved everything to source/tree and symlinked SRPMS to it temporarily until all configs are updated to use source/tree.
