#9387 F33 System-wide change: Perl 5.32
Closed: Fixed 4 years ago by mohanboddu. Opened 4 years ago by jplesnik.

Hello,

I'd like you to review the system-wide change proposal I made.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/perl5.32

This will require a side tag for me to do the rebuilds.
perl-5.32.0's official release will occur on May 2020.

We plan to rebuild Python 3.9 in side tag mid-May. Please let me know when you plan to strat doing this with Perl, so the packages requiring both rebuilds don't clash. Thanks.

No releng work is needed on this change, if side tag is needed, you can use fedpkg request-side-tag and dont have to wait for releng.

Thanks for checking.

Given the expected amount of builds and the existing problems of going trough a single giant multi-build bodhi update (for example https://github.com/fedora-infra/bodhi/issues/3991), is it not better to do this the old way until the problems are ironed out on smaller updates?

I wound certainly not risk this with the Python 3.9 rebuild.
