This was the wrong version of gnome-control-center. Please fire a new RC with gnome-control-center-3.34.1-4.fc31 included. (The inclusion of the wrong one resulted in a DOOMED compose.)
gnome-control-center-3.34.1-4.fc31 is already in F31 stable, so I guess I don't need to put it here.

yeah, it keeps winding up in the compose request even though the bug is long closed, and I forgot to cut it out :( sorry. I'm looking into the blockerbugs code to figure out why it's showing up.
Actually, I think the gtk3 change that tries to fix a cut/paste FE is bad (causes another bug that's worse if anything). Since that's an FE, let's run a candidate without it, so:
