#8534 Side tag for nettle 3.5
Closed: It's all good 4 years ago by ignatenkobrain. Opened 4 years ago by ueno.

  • Describe the issue

nettle 3.5 bumped the ABI:
https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/devel@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/YUGXXGCFZ5DBLCPHEML2MA424SBGSIJT/

To rebuild the dependent packages we need a side-tag (e.g., f31-nettle).

  • When do you need this? (YYYY/MM/DD)

2019/07/15

  • When is this no longer needed or useful? (YYYY/MM/DD)

  • If we cannot complete your request, what is the impact?

why not to put old shared library in new builds, rebuild dependent packages and drop it? Or you need some bootstrap for this?

Also, how many builds are expected to be there and for how long do you need side tag?

I tried that, but it is more complicated than expected as we have also downstream patches:

I'm honestly not sure. The dependent packages seem to be:

freeradius-client-0:1.1.7-19.fc30.i686
freetds-libs-0:1.00.38-8.fc30.i686
gnutls-0:3.6.7-1.fc30.i686
gnutls-0:3.6.8-1.fc30.i686
gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free-0:1.15.2-1.fc30.i686
gstreamer1-plugins-bad-free-0:1.16.0-2.fc30.i686
libfilezilla-0:0.15.1-2.fc30.i686
libfilezilla-0:0.17.1-1.fc30.i686
libstorj-0:1.0.2-7.fc30.i686
mir-common-libs-0:1.1.0-3.fc30.i686
nettle-devel-0:3.4.1rc1-2.fc30.i686
radcli-0:1.2.11-2.fc30.i686
stoken-libs-0:0.91-7.fc30.i686

It seems it has happened directly in rawhide.
