#8324 RFE: Reject retire commits on released Fedora branches
Closed: Fixed 3 years ago by amoloney. Opened 4 years ago by churchyard.

I've seen recently packagers retiring packages from already released Fedora versions. Such as:

https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/yum-axelget/commits/f29

Can we please reject such commits, as it makes no sense and the package remains in the repo forever?

Fedpkg could block people from running retire command in released branches. The only thing I'm not sure about is how to tell it's after branching but before final freeze.

Fedpkg is not the best place to block this, packages could retire on master and gt merge and push to f30. But still better to check in fedpkg than nowhere.

For the information see also https://github.com/fedora-infra/bodhi/issues/1038 - you should be able to get the information from bodhi (or from wherever bodhi takes it).

I agree that checking on the server side would be more reliable. Anyway I opened https://pagure.io/fedpkg/issue/337

This is fixed using PDC & closing ticket now
