#7803 Create Fedora 29 Beta candidates
Closed: Fixed 5 years ago Opened 5 years ago by adamwill.

Can we please have a Beta release candidate compose? There are no special package requests, but please complete the latest stable push request FIRST and ensure all those packages go into the RC compose. Thank you!

Please do an RC2 compose, after this stable push request. Thanks!

Note that to fix the blocker bug we only need to respin, as the pull request to fix it has been merged already.

RC1 compose is done and available from https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/29/Fedora-29-20180912.0/compose/ it has been synced to http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/29_Beta-1.1/ rpms have all be hardlinked to /pub/fedora/linux/development/29/

RC2 compose failed. We'll fire a new RC3 in a bit.

OK, I'm worried about one or two proposed blockers and think we may wind up needing to fix them, but we do want to run a candidate compose with DNF 3.5.1 in it, so requesting an RC3. Please include everything from this stable push request, plus these packages we don't want to push stable yet:

Note that although none of the updates listed fixes any blocker bugs, a new compose is justified by the need to fix the ARM blocker, as RC2 failed, so we still don't have a compose that fixes that.

@adamwill you will need python-blivet-3.1.0-2.fc29 for any anaconda newer than 29.24.2-1 else it will crash. These changes have been in rawhide for a good two weeks without issue there so it's fairly safe

ah, thanks, I hadn't noticed that dep...

OK, so, modified request:

Please include everything from this stable push request, plus these packages we don't want to push stable yet:

RC3 compose is done and available from https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/29/Fedora-29-20180916.0/compose/ it has been synced to http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/29_Beta-1.3/ rpms have all be hardlinked to /pub/fedora/linux/development/29/

Re-opening for RC4. Please include the pki-core build from the recent stable push, and these packages. Note the anaconda update is the same one from the previous request, but with different packages - please make sure all the right packages are tagged.

This is kind of against the rules, but we're rebels! Requesting an RC5 with some FE fixes, in addition to all previous builds in RC4:

Another reason for a new compose is that Silverblue installer failed (due to a network blip) in the RC4 compose. While that image isn't release blocking, we'd very much like to have it in the Beta. Barring any other network blips, it should be in an RC5 compose.

Note we intend RC4 and RC5 to be alternatives, depending on how much testing RC5 gets and how that testing looks, we can decide which (if either) to ship at the Go/No-Go meeting.

RC5 compose is done and available from https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org/compose/29/Fedora-29-20180919.1/compose/ it has been synced to http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/stage/29_Beta-1.5/ rpms have all be hardlinked to /pub/fedora/linux/development/29/
