Hello,
this is tracking issue for the Golang 1.11 change proposal, that would require rebuild of all Go based package(either as side tag rebuild or during mass rebuild). New golang version is not yet available in rawhide. I will update this issue when the new golang version will be available and so rebuild possible.

@kellin for the record what is the deadline for side tag rebuild?

@jcajka rel-eng doesn't usually do these side tag rebuilds for toolchains because they often require special ordering of the toolchain stack and hence specialist knowledge so it's usually handled by the feature owner. See the recent perl and python 3.7 rebuilds. rel-eng has traditionally just done package wide rebuilds.

Also you state "I will update this issue when the new golang version will be available and so rebuild possible." not even a request of a side ticket, nor was the ticket even updated as stated so I've no idea why you would think it would be "done". This ticket is a request for rel-eng to acknowledge they're OK with the change in general and that they don't see any conflict that would affect the compose process or conflict with other features.

Finally it's a US holiday today.

Fortunately Go land is source dep only and any naive approach for rebuild will do for it as there is literally no ordering required.

I don't expect this be answered in real time.

The deadline is usually having everything done and merged prior to mass rebuild, the very last possible opportunity is prior to branching, which for F29 is scheduled for 2018-08-14, but rel-eng (likely Mohan) would need to approve the exception.

So for the record I think that currently will be best course of action for Go to free ride as part of mass rebuild(as there is no strong ordering requirements for Go rebuild) with pre-release version of Go 1.11 and then iron out any outstanding FTBFS(I haven't seen any significant FTBFS in local rebuilds)

@jcajka When is Go 1.11 is going to land in rawhide?

@mohanboddu I plan to land the beta1 by tomorrow. There is still one outstanding issue on armv7 that I need to investigate. I hope it will be either safe to ignore or easy fix.
