#7486 F29 self-contained change: MySQL 8
Closed: Fixed 5 years ago Opened 5 years ago by mschorm.

Hello,

I'd like you to review the self-contained change proposal I made.
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/MySQL_8

It's not much and nearly nothing has to be done for it, but I recently met some guy who was not happy about the update (because the software he use is not yet ready for mysql 8), so I decided to made this as a self-contained change, so both people will be more aware of it, and to make some COPR repo and module with mysql 5.7, so user's can decide which one to use.

There was a huge shift of all software to build with MariaDB instad of MySQL, so the only affected group should be really just users of software not yet supporting MySQL 8.

I made the basic check of dependencies by something like
# grep -iR "requires:\scommunity-mysql" ./
inside
https://src.fedoraproject.org/repo/rpm-specs-latest.tar.xz
