Closed: Fixed 5 years ago Opened 5 years ago by ventz.

@mohanboddu Just following up on:
https://pagure.io/releng/issue/7435

Here is the approved fesco ticket:
https://pagure.io/fesco/issue/1880

Please let me know what the next steps are.

Thank you.

Hi,

you need to get sponsored into the packager group to be able to take over lastpass-cli:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_get_sponsored_into_the_packager_group

In the FESCo ticket you wrote that Steve Huff would like to maintain this with you. Therefore the best next step would be for him to confirm this here and especially tell his FAS name so we can add him. You might be able to work with him and/or @kevin to get sponsored into the packager group.

hi folks! my FAS name is shuff. i honestly don't know whether i have the ability to sponsor Ventz; if so, i'd like to do so, if not, we probably do need help from @kevin.

My background is that I’m a (currently inactive) maintainer at Repoforge, and I’ve attempted to remain at least somewhat current with Fedora’s packaging policy.

@shuff could you please login once at https://src.fedoraproject.org - unfortunately this is required for us to be able to give the package to you.

Thank you for your patience, lastpass-cli is now yours.

@till - Thanks. What are the next steps?

@ventz you need to follow https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_get_sponsored_into_the_packager_group to get into the packager group. In the meantime you should file pull requests at https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/lastpass-cli/pull-requests to help @shuff to maintain lastpass-cli and show your expertise. AFAIK you should be able to file remote pull requests there. If you need more guidance, feel free to reach out.

@till You've given lastpass-cli to shuff but he doesn't seem to be a member of the packager group. Also no update has been pushed since then despite the multiple requests on Bugzilla.

@shuff I did not realize that you are not a packager as well, therefore I orphaned lastpass-cli again. @eclipseo would you like to maintain it (if you are a packager).

I'm not using it, just came here because of a wrongly filled Review Request, but I can step up if needed. (I am a packager)

Unfortunately this took much longer than we expected (3+ months) and we had to move forward -- I created the new version and have since updated it twice for the new releases: https://github.com/harvard-itsecurity/rpm-lastpass-cli

If anyone wants to use the spec, please feel free to do so. I am keeping it always updated with the latest lastpass cli github releases.

The release notes/security fixes/etc have been documented in the spec file:
https://github.com/harvard-itsecurity/rpm-lastpass-cli/blob/master/SPECS/lastpass-cli.spec

@shuff @ventz, @eclipseo is now the new admin of lastpass-cli, you can now file pull requests to help maintaining it.

@eclipseo If you want, I can still maintain the updated release on github and provide you with the "ready to push" RPM spec files/tree. Hopefully this should make things easier for you.

I'll take a look on your work. There are also other people who contributed SPEC on RHBZ#1583717 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1583717

Though you're welcome to try to be a packager too.
