#7457 Modular repos are unavailable on Rawhide
Closed: Fixed 5 years ago Opened 6 years ago by sgallagh.

The fedora-repos-modular package contains no enabled repositories on Rawhide. Additionally, enabling the stable repo results in an error, as mirrormanager has no entries for it.

As a result, modules aren't available on Rawhide systems.

I should note actually that fedora-repos-rawhide-modular does appear to exist and work if it's explicitly installed, but of course it wouldn't be in a default install. There's definitely a disconnect somewhere.

I guess the easiest fix is adding fedora-repos-rawhide-modular to comps, but I dont like the idea of changing it every time rawhide release changes.

I guess, we have to add it to the comps and remember to remove it during branching. I am open to if anyone has any other ideas.

@adrian can we get mirrormanager to point the f29 modular content at rawhide repo now?
ie, https://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/metalink?repo=f29-modular&arch=x86_64

With the idea that we point the highest number at rawhide repos and we can then ditch the fedora-rawhide.repo and other 'special' rawhide repos. (Along with adding a comment to fedora*.repo that rawhide is special and if you disable the metalink you have to use development/something/ for the path).

Thoughts?

It is easy to add repository redirects for this:

fedora-modular-29 -> rawhide-modular
fedora-modular-debug-29 -> rawhide-modular-debug
fedora-modular-source-29 -> rawhide-modular-source

I guess we should also redirect updates-released/testing-modular-f29 to rawhide-modular
