#6938 python-paste-script in el7 is required by python-pylons (and, by extension, fts-rest)
Closed: Duplicate 6 years ago Opened 6 years ago by aalvarez.

python-paste-script is required by python-pylons, and so by fts-rest
However, it got dropped from el7.

Any chance it can be un-retired, and adopted by me?

So python-paste-script was not supposed to be retired, and it doesn't show as retired in the read-only snapshot of Pkgdb... I think what happened is it was retired, then un-retired, but the dead.package file was left behind. And so as part of the Pkgdb -> Pagure transition python-paste-script was erroneously marked as retired even though it shouldn't have been.

Anyway I have a bunch of other TurboGears-related packages in the same boat (wrongly pulled from EPEL7) and there could well be many other packages where the same thing happened, not sure if we need a separate ticket...

Ah! That explains why everything was working, and all of the sudden ( ~1 week ago) the package disappeared.
Thanks a lot for the info. I've subscribed to the other issue.

yes, you can have it back. @ralph or @pingou should be able to unretire it according to https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/WhatHappenedToPkgdb#How_do_I_adopt_an_orphaned_package_or_unretire_a_package.3F_.28TODO.29

However, you will need to remove the dead.package file and restore the spec. Probably you will also have to bump the release, build it and submit an update.

I unblocked it an koji and set the SLAs in PDC to their default values. You should be able to rebuild and submit an update now or soonish. Please remove thea dead.package file ASAP.
