Hi, There is package abrt in RHEL, but it does not contain abrt-addon-python3 as there is no python3 in RHEL7. However it is in EPEL now and people want that subpackage in EPEL. See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1445615
So we want to have epel7 branch for abrt. Disable main package and all subpackage but abrt-addon-python3 in spec file and build it for EPEL. However when I navigate to https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/package/rpms/abrt/ and click "request new branch" and file in epel-7, then I got this error: There is already a package named abrt in RHEL-7. If you really wish to have an EPEL branch for it open a ticket on the rel-eng trac
So here I come and I am filing this issue.
Ping?
why not to name it abrt-addon-python3?
abrt-addon-python3
Because that would be different package, it will require new package review. The change to spec would be more drastic... I prefer new branch for abrt package.
because of how koji works and manages the repos what you are asking is not possible. you could do a variant of https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL:Packaging#Limited_Arch_Packages or just make a packages that is called abrt-addon-python3
OK. Limited Arch Packages process seems bit complicated to me. We will create the new package called abrt-addon-python3. I am closing this issue.
