#6592 RFE: automatically unblock packages which are unretired
Closed: Fixed 5 years ago Opened 7 years ago by zbyszek.

https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Orphaned_package_that_need_new_maintainers#Claiming_Ownership_of_a_Retired_Package requests maintainers to both unretire a package in pkgdb and also to file a ticket to unblock it here. It would probably save everybody some time if the second step could be done automatically.

We actually have plans on automating unblock when a pkg gets unretired in pkdgb, but we currently dont have a fedmsg associated with it.

The issue is reported in fedmsg github:
https://github.com/fedora-infra/pkgdb2/issues/378#issuecomment-234705801

IIRC the pkgdb-admin tool should remind their users to unblock the packages. Anyhow, pkgdb is going away soon, therefore this ticket can probably be closed.

@ralph is this still apropos in the PDC world?

@ralph, do you still want this RFE or has it been handled already?

@syeghiay As part of unretirement process, we will unblock them, so its not automatic but its part of SOP. I guess we can close this ticket.

Closing as fixed since in the SOP.
