Similarly to the EPEL7 branch, we are working on an epel-rpm-macros package for EPEL6 with the goal of making EPEL6 packaging at least slightly less different than EPEL7 and Fedora packaging.
Currently epel-rpm-macros-6-1 is in EPEL6 stable, and many mass rebuilds have been done to make sure that there are no build failures caused, and no difference in the resulting packages as shown by rpmdiff. I believe that it's now ready for general use.
Could this package be added to the EPEL6 buildroot?
A similar request will follow for EPEL5, but that package isn't yet ready.
epel-rpm-macros has been added to the buildroots for epel6 and comps for the repo hat is pushed out by bodhi
