#6143 speed up indexing of new fedorapeople.org public_git repositories
Closed: Fixed None Opened 8 years ago by ktdreyer.

When I create a new repository in $HOME/public_git on fedorapeople.org and touch the git-daemon-export-ok file, it takes a while for the repository to show up in the cgit web interface.

I'm not sure how often cgit (or whatever else is involved) does its indexing, but I'm guessing it's running in cron every hour or so? Could we make that run more frequently?

How much more often would be good for you?

Yes, it's currently running once per hour at :23 after the hour. Would 2x/hour work? or ?

Cool; I was wondering when it kicked off :) Typically I create a repository in order to publish a patch for a bug fix for a dist-git repo, or to host an in-progress package review. I'm ok waiting a couple minutes while I type the bug report details, etc.

Could we run it every 5 or 10 minutes?

Done. Should run every 5min now.
