#5314 Please submit pango and pangox-compat to f18 testing
Closed: Fixed None Opened 11 years ago by pnemade.

Hi,
Since I have built/added new package pangox-compat, I am in need to see pango-1.31.0-2.fc18 and pangox-compat-0.0.1-1.fc18 to be pushed to f18 updates-testing. I created pangox-compat updated with the hope that Gnome update will pick whatever I have written pango build in their update but that has not happened.

I was asked to unpush pangox-compat by rhughes as I was told that pango and pangox-compat be pushed at same time. I did it but still no one from desktop team submitting these builds to f18 testing. I can see coming Monday is a holiday also. Can someone please give me the reason or help by pushing it to testing?

I can see there is no broken dependencies for libpangox-1.0.so.0 now in rawhide as we added pangox-compat. See -> http://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/devel/2012-August/171267.html

Parag.

Its sad that gnome update unpushed this new pango update. Bodhi should stop such replacement of newer builds with older builds.

No, it's the natural thing a maintainer wants to have:
When you add a new update with a newer build into the same release, you want to replace the old one.

When you don't want to do that, you shouldn't have build the newer build in the first place...

Ofcourse newer build should replace older one.
Build was already present but didn't picked.

3.5.91 builds started populating on koji. But 3.5.90 update will not go stable as f18 alpha is not released yet. It will take another week I guess. But as editing for 3.5.90 update stopped, newer pango is in testing today.

marking this as resolved.
