{{{ The previous leafpad package was very outdated (Dec. 2007). This update includes the necessary fixes for GTK 2.18 as well as some more bugfixes. I know of at least 4 crashes that were fixes. I have tested this package for a while and did not spot any errors. Additionally, the update fixes some packaging issues.
